Seventeen-year-old April Pierce had her whole summer planned out with her best-friend and boyfriend. They had an ambitious to-do list: road trips and hanging out by April’s pool were at the very top. But when April suddenly finds herself on the tarmac waiting to fly to her childhood home in Sunny Grove, North Carolina, plans plunge 35,000 feet.
While navigating the countryside, she re-discovers her love for horseback riding, writing songs under an old forgotten tree, and playing guitar on the back of an old rusty truck that a cute college boy fixed up.
